Dr. Ilham Nasser, Ph.D. has spent over thirty years in research and training in child development and teacher education and development in different educational settings in the U.S., Central Africa, and the Middle East. She completed a Ph.D. in Human Development and Child Study at the University of Maryland-College Park and worked for several years as a preschool teacher and a school counselor. She previously served as a faculty in ECE teacher education for 12 years at George Mason University, first as an Assistant Professor and promoted to Associate professor. Her academic research includes publications on teacher preparation and professional development in social, cultural, and political contexts. Recently, she led the modernization of the curriculum for kindergarten in Iraq and the design and development of the first national curriculum for Kindergarten in Palestine. Dr. Nasser spent five years leading a study on psychosocial well being among youth and educators in fifteen different countries between 2018 and 2021.
