The Arab Council for Childhood and Development – Egypt

The Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) is a leading Arab organization and a reference for institutions and individuals in the upbringing and development of the Arab child. It is dedicated to ensuring children’s rights, enriching their awareness, fostering critical thinking, and empowering them to engage positively with the demands of the future.
ACCD aims to establish an enlightened educational and intellectual movement, create enabling environments that support the upbringing of Arab children, develop their critical and creative thinking skills, equip them with modern competencies, ensure the realization of their rights, and provide continuous opportunities for their development. It also seeks to engage children in building their nations within the framework of human civilization.
Additionally, ACCD seeks to promote, adopt, and develop ideas, studies, projects, legislation, and policies that activate children’s rights and integrate them into development plans and projects. This is achieved through:

• Providing data, information, and specialized knowledge on issues related to the rights of Arab children and sharing them with research centers and relevant institutions.
• Raising public awareness and mobilizing Arab public opinion to support children’s rights, in coordination with media outlets and other developmental institutions.
• Establishing effective partnerships and networks with civil society organizations and government institutions to advocate for children’s rights and adopt supportive legislation and policies.

Offering technical support and building the capacities of professionals working in the field of childhood, including governmental and civil society institutions, media professionals, families, policymakers, and legislators.
