The Arab Network for Early Childhood Development (ANECD) with the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) participated in the World Early Childhood Development (WED) Forum, and the ECD Research Convening, which took place as part of the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, from October 30 to 31, 2024.

ANECD’s participation included organizing and extending invitations to researchers from the Arab Working Group for Early Childhood Research, established by ANECD, to attend the forum. Three members of the group presented at ECD Research Convening, including Dr. Anis Al-Houroub, who delivered a keynote presentation on early childhood education research; Dr. Amer Al-Asiri, who discussed Knowledge and Practices of Parents and Caregivers Regarding the Impact of the Climate Change Crisis on Children Under Five Years Old in Six Arab Countries Research, a study that represents ANECD’s fourth strategic research model, and Dr. Asmaa Al Khatib, who provided an in-depth analysis of the Health, Early Learning, and Protection Parenting Program (HEPPP) 

WED Forum seeks to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in early childhood development, focusing on tangible outcomes and pioneering solutions that advance early childhood development locally and globally. Led by WED’s multi-disciplinary experts, the movement addresses future challenges and opportunities in early childhood development through the co-creation of knowledge and the conception and implementation of innovative outputs. Based on these objectives, the forum brought together over 60 experts, including policymakers, experts, practitioners, and stakeholders from various sectors, over the course of two days to share knowledge and exchange views in the field of early childhood. The participants discussed key topics, including effective education, culture and identity, and sustainable, family-friendly cities.
