Amongst its cross-sectoral list of tools, we highlight the Early Childhood Workforce Initiative’s (ECWI) Home Visiting Workforce Needs Assessment Tool. It is an instrument that gives insights to stakeholder and governmental agencies on how to support ECD personnel delivering home-visiting programs for pregnant mothers and caregivers with children under 3 years of age. Home visitors, supervisors, and trainers working directly with young children and their families can all benefit from guiding questions eliciting areas that need attention thus calling for effective strategies. The tool underlines five key areas that are: Workforce Expectations, Curricula, Materials, and Resources, Training, Supervision, and Career Development, Workforce Conditions, Program Design, Enabling Environment, and Monitoring and Quality Assurance.
